A 2013 Girl Scouts USA study revealed that African-American and Hispanic girls have a much stronger desire to provide leadership than do their peers. Girl Bullying & Empowerment Conference Keynote Presenter Tracie Berry-McGhee co-founded the Sistakeepers Empowerment Center more than a decade ago in St. Louis to break down prejudice, build diversity, enhance self-esteem and develop leadership skills.
Watch Tracie Berry-McGhee discuss empowering girls.
An author & therapist, Tracie is the 2015 recipient of the St. Louis NAACP Image Award. She will present a keynote session entitled I Define Me! at the Girl Bullying and Empowerment Conference Las Vegas. She will also present a breakout session during the main conference.
For the past 8 years, the Girl Bullying Conference has brought focus to the problem of relational aggression among girls. Quite naturally, many of the field-tested interventions presented at the conference encourage friendship, sisterhood and building other types of supportive relationships – hence the added emphasis on female empowerment. This unique gathering will help counselors, principals, teachers, social workers and other professionals understand the latest research and field-tested strategies designed to address relational aggression and build positive, supportive relationships among girls.
Now in its 9th year, the Girl Bullying & Empowerment Conference will be more accessible – with locations in Las Vegas, Atlanta and Niagara Falls. This unique gathering will help counselors, principals, teachers, social workers and other professionals understand the latest research and field-tested strategies designed to address relational aggression and build positive, supportive relationships among girls.
